New Children’s Book Highlights Animal Rescue

Honey’s Second Chance” About Real Dog Rescue Story

A new children’s book has just been released with a highlight on animal rescue. Honey’s Second Chance, written by Brandy Herr and released by Who Chains You Publishing, tells the story of Honey, a golden retriever rehabilitated by real animal rescue Second Chance Farm.

“By not only telling the story of an actual dog saved by animal rescue, but also telling it in the dog’s point of view, I hope to bring a closer sense of compassion between children and animals,” said Brandy Herr. “Children can learn about the reality of animal abuse and rescue, told in a child-appropriate manner, while putting themselves in Honey’s perspective.”

The illustrations found in Honey’s Second Chance, stylized by illustrator Tamira Ci Thayne, come largely from actual photos of dogs rescued by Second Chance Farm.

Half of all the author’s profits and royalties from the sale of Honey’s Second Chance will be donated directly to Second Chance Farm, a rescue located in Granbury, Texas that cares for and rehabilitates animals most other rescues will not: the blind, deaf, handicapped, and severely abused.
