You Can Help the Four-Legged Victims of Hurricane Ike

| September 18, 2008 | Comments (0)

Many pets were lost or abandoned in the wake of Hurricane Ike and are in need of temporary homes. Houston’s local shelters have taken in pets from Galveston and Bay Area shelters and are at full capacity.

The Houston SPCA’s “Operation Save a Life” is asking families who are able, to foster a Galveston pet for ten days. If after ten days, the animal is not reclaimed by its original owner, the foster parent has the option to adopt the animal or return him/her to the shelter for placement. Families interested in fostering can go to www.houstonspca.org to download an application or visit the Houston SPCA at 900 Portway Drive, Houston, TX 77024 beginning Friday, September 19th at 10 am.
