Houston’s Top Dogs

Do you know which dogs are most common in Houston? This list reveals two sides of Houston’s personality – sporty dogs as well as toy dogs.
1. Labrador Retriever
2. Yorkshire Terrier
3. German Shepherd
4. Boxer
5. Miniature Schnauzer
6. Golden Retriever
7. Poodle
8. Rottweiler
9. Shih Tzu
10. Bulldog
When it comes to the Bulldog, Houston is right in line with the national preference, according to the American Kennel Club. The Rottweiler and Miniature Schnauzer are the only two breeds on Houston’s list that gained popularity in the AKC’s annual ranking. Some of the least popular breeds in Houston include the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, the Tibetan Spaniel and the Lowchen.
