No Kill Houston Helping to Find Homes for BARC Cats & Kittens
No Kill Houston is partnering with Friskly Paws Rescue and Friends for Life in hopes of finding loving homes for the cats and kittens of Houston’s Bureau of Animal Regulation and Care (BARC). BARC cats have very few off-site adoption opportunities and very few cats are being adopted at BARC. No Kill Houston’s goal is to get these wonderful cats & kittens out in front of the public for a chance to find a forever home.
No Kill Houston will be renting a retail space to be used for adoptions for the cats and kittens. The space is in a very high traffic, highly visible location on Westheimer at Wilcrest. It will be the perfect space to showcase these little ones. The realtor has agreed to rent the space to them for one weekend instead of the entire month. No Kill Houston’s goal is to rent it over the long Thanksgiving weekend since this is the busiest shopping weekend of year. This will mean more exposure to people out shopping who might also be thinking of getting a pet.
The rent, electricity and insurance will total $1,200.00. No Kill Houston is asking the public to donate so that they can secure the space as soon as possible. Every dollar donated will help them help homeless cats and kittens.
