Urgent Funds and Help Needed at the Houston Humane Society (HHS)
HOUSTON, TX (July 27, 2009) The Houston Humane Society (HHS) received 68 puppies from B.A.R.C. (Bureau of Animal Regulation and Control) on Friday, July 24th. The Houston Humane Society provided immediate housing, medical care and attention to these sick puppies. The puppies are now in quarantine and in need of weeks of medical treatment for coccidia, hookworms, round worms and tape worms. Some are being treated for malnutrition, anemia and skin disorders.
“The Houston Humane Society needs community support now more that ever.” explains HHS Executive Director Sherry Ferguson. “We doubled up our residents to make room for the new arrivals and really need people who are considering adopting to choose the HHS now. Our staff and volunteers are dedicated to getting these puppies back to health but we need financial support to continue to provide these little ones with the best medical treatment.”
B.A.R.C. turned the puppies over to the Houston Humane Society in order to make critical repairs to ensure the safety and health of the animals at their facility.
