Beginning August 1, Houston area pets can have their advanced nutrition dog food and eat it too – and they can do so in between a haircut and mingling with fellow shoppers. Located at 9718 Katy Freeway, the new 20,000-square-foot PetSmart store will offer an array of products, professional services and advice to care for the lifetime needs of pets, and all under one roof.

The new Houston PetSmart will bring:

· Forty full- and part-time jobs (if you can call playing with dogs a job).

· Ten thousand products from breed-specific dog food to self-cleaning litter boxes to lavender-scented small pet bedding.

· A full-service grooming salon where a new hairdo tops off clean ears, clipped nails and fresh breath.

· Training classes geared just as much (if not more) toward pet parents than their pets.

· A shopping experience where pets sniff out their favorite toys.

· Year-round choices to save the life of a homeless pet and add to the family through our in-store adoption program.

· Knowledgeable associates to help match the best pets – whether they slither, blow bubbles or chirp – with families.

· Full-service medical care at the in-store Banfield veterinary hospital to help pets live long, healthy lives and

· Suites and treats at the PetsHotel, an overnight and day care service with round-the-clock care, opening September 12.

Exclusive product lines are coming to the new Houston PetSmart. PetSmart recently announced the availability of exclusive product lines from Dean Koontz, Tamar Geller and the Animal Planet, these products will be sold at the new store location. Pet parents can now celebrate the special bond with their pet through favorite training, grooming and play products designed to match the individual lifestyle and personality of each family.
